Antique French Workbench Console Table, circa 1900

This antique French workbench dates from around 1900 and retains its authentic character and practical construction.

Originally used as a craftsman’s bench, the piece features a substantial 75 mm thick solid beech top with a beautifully worn surface developed through years of use. The natural patina and visible tool marks contribute to its honest, utilitarian aesthetic.

The base and legs are constructed from solid beech and oak, providing strength and stability. The bench is fitted with a wooden spindle in chestnut.

A lower slatted shelf offers additional storage and enhances the functional appeal of the piece.

Thanks to its proportions, this antique workbench is well suited as:

  • Console table

  • Kitchen island

  • Bathroom vanity

  • Hall table

  • Retail display table

The piece combines rustic authenticity with architectural simplicity, making it adaptable to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
