Antique French Cast Iron Jardinière

Antique French cast iron jardinière produced in Charleville, dating to the late 19th century.

This decorative planter features an elaborate relief design inspired by Rococo motifs, including scrollwork, floral detailing, and a central cartouche. The elongated oval form is raised on four integrated feet, giving the piece an elegant and balanced profile.

The underside bears a foundry mark referencing Charleville along with a model number (56). The interior includes a drainage hole, indicating its original intended use as a functional planter.

The surface shows a naturally aged patina consistent with age and material, enhancing its historic character.

Originally designed for interior use on a mantelpiece, console, or in a winter garden, this jardinière remains suitable for decorative planting or as a standalone sculptural object.
