Antique French Oak Workbench Console Table / Bathroom Vanity, 1880–1920
This antique French oak workbench dates from the late 19th to early 20th century and has been repurposed as a console table, side table or bathroom vanity.
Constructed from solid oak, the workbench retains its original woodworking vise with iron spindle, highlighting its authentic workshop origins. The thick oak top displays a rich patina developed over decades of use, with visible knots, shrinkage cracks, old mortise joints, tool marks and other age-related characteristics. A lower shelf provides practical storage while enhancing the robust appearance of the piece.
Its generous length makes it suitable for use as an entrance console, kitchen island, bathroom vanity or display table in both rustic and contemporary interiors.
The workbench remains in sturdy, fully usable condition with expected signs of age and use. The surface shows wear, old repairs, cracks, filled mortises, stains and other imperfections consistent with its history, all contributing to its authentic character.
