Antique French Pitch Pine Work Table – Large Atelier / Draper’s Table, Early 20th Century
This antique French work table originates from an atelier and dates from the early 20th century.
Constructed from solid pitch pine, the table reflects a simple and functional design typical of utilitarian furniture from this period. The large rectangular top offers a generous working surface, supported by a sturdy base with an integrated lower shelf for additional storage.
Its proportions and layout suggest it may have been used as a general work or preparation table. It is also suitable as a draper’s table for handling textiles or materials.
At a later stage, four iron fixed stem castors with rubber wheels were added. These allow the table to be moved when needed while maintaining stability in use.
The surface shows a naturally developed patina, with visible signs of use consistent with its age and original function. The construction is solid and suitable for continued everyday use.
With its generous dimensions and understated appearance, the table can be used as a kitchen island, workshop table, or display piece in both residential and commercial interiors.
