Antique Oak Pharmacy Counter / Kitchen Island, circa 1870–1900
Antique oak shop counter from a French pharmacy, dating from the late 19th century, circa 1870–1900.
The front is decorated with moulded panels and carved rosettes. A black marble plaque marked Produits chimiques is set into the centre, referring to the counter’s original use in a pharmacy.
The working side has two sliding doors that open to reveal a divided storage interior. The counter offers useful storage while remaining accessible from behind.
With its height of 94 cm, it is well suited for use as a kitchen island, bar counter, shop counter or display unit. The oak has developed a warm colour and aged surface, with marks and variations consistent with its age and former use.
