Each chair has a round wooden seat and a tall curved backrest with four slender turned spindles. Curved supports connect the seat and back, while a circular bentwood stretcher strengthens the legs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"470\" data-end=\"727\">The chairs were acquired as Fischel chairs. Traces on the wood indicate where paper labels were once attached, although the labels themselves are no longer present. The design and construction are consistent with Fischel bentwood furniture from this period.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"729\" data-end=\"921\">The beechwood has developed a warm colour and natural patina over the years. There are differences in tone between the chairs, together with scratches, marks and surface wear from age and use.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"1151\">All six chairs are in good vintage condition. They form a well-matched set, although small differences in colour, wear and finish can be seen between the individual chairs.
