Antique French Workbench Console Table / Kitchen Island / Shop Counter, Early 1900s

A substantial antique French workbench in solid pine, dating from the early 20th century.

This piece stands out for its strong, architectural construction and beautifully aged surface. The front features original painted panels with a heavily weathered, layered patina, revealing tones of cream, green, and natural wood underneath. The top and frame contrast with a more stripped, raw wood finish, highlighting the robust structure and craftsmanship.

The workbench retains its original iron hardware, including door latches and a side-mounted spindle vice, adding to its authentic workshop character. The vice has a depth of approximately 11 cm and remains a distinctive decorative and functional detail.

Behind the two central doors, the interior offers practical storage with fixed shelving across the full width. The interior wood has a warm tone and shows less wear compared to the exterior, creating a nice contrast between inside and out.
