Antique French Farmhouse Table in Pine and Oak, Circa 1880–1920
This French farmhouse table dates from around 1880–1920. With its long, narrow proportions and simple construction, it is suitable as a dining table, work table or console.
The rectangular top is made from two wide solid pine planks with rounded corners. It retains many signs of age and use, including scratches, dents, carved inscriptions and naturally developed wear acquired over more than a century. The solid oak base stands on four tapered legs and retains scattered remnants of old white paint, reflecting the table’s long working life. These features have been preserved as part of the table’s history.
The table has been cleaned and finished with a lightly tinted wax, giving the wood a warm, even appearance while maintaining its aged character.
Historical woodworm holes may be present, as is common with furniture of this age. The table has been treated as a precaution.
The table is solid, stable and ready for everyday use.
