Antique French Oak Workbench | Rustic Console Table | 19th Century

This antique French workbench dates from the 19th century and has been converted into a practical console table while retaining its original character.

The bench features a solid 10 cm thick oak top with a beautiful, naturally aged surface. Decades of use have left visible tool marks, old cuts, knots, shrinkage cracks and traces of historic woodworm, all contributing to its authentic appearance. The base is made from solid chestnut.

The original wooden vise is still present, as is the small drawer located on the vise side. A full-length lower stretcher provides additional storage or display space.

The workbench is sturdy and suitable for everyday use as a console table, kitchen island, display table or shop counter.

Condition
Good antique condition with age-related wear. The top shows old repairs, surface wear, historic woodworm traces and natural cracking. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
