French Antique Oak Coffee Table – 19th Century XXL Farmhouse Table

Large French antique oak coffee table dating from the first half of the 19th century, circa 1800–1850.

The table was originally made as a dining table and has later been lowered to coffee-table height. With its generous dimensions of 196 × 90 cm, it makes an impressive centrepiece in a large living room.

Made from solid oak, with a five-plank top, straight square legs and a single drawer on one of the long sides. The wood has a warm natural colour and a beautiful aged surface, with the grain, knots and old marks still clearly visible.

The simple construction and proportions are typical of French rural furniture from this period. No unnecessary decoration, just a substantial early oak table with plenty of character.

The table is solid and in very good antique condition. The surface shows normal traces of age and use. Please note that the legs were shortened at a later date.
