Antique Draper’s Table / Kitchen Island, circa 1920–1940 – France
Antique French draper’s table dating from circa 1920–1940, constructed from poplar and pine with a fruitwood top. Measuring 190 cm in length and 58 cm in depth, the table provides a long working surface while retaining relatively narrow proportions.
The fruitwood top contrasts with the poplar and pine of the base, with natural differences in grain and colour between the woods. A single drawer provides storage for utensils, cutlery or other small items.
At 91 cm high, the table is well suited for use as a freestanding kitchen island or preparation table. Its length also makes it useful as a shop display table or a serving surface in a dining room.
