Antique French 18th Century Farmhouse Dining Table in Oak & Chestnut

Large antique French farmhouse dining table dating from the 18th century.

The table is constructed predominantly from solid oak, with a chestnut top made from two wide boards, approximately 35 mm thick. The two drawers are also made from chestnut.

The table has a traditional, simple construction with four tapered legs and a deep apron. It has two practical drawers: one along the long side and another at one end, both fitted with old metal handles.

At 220 cm long, the table is suitable for seating up to 10 people. The clearance beneath the apron is approximately 60–62 cm. At the end with the drawer, the clearance is approximately 58 cm.

The wood shows considerable traces of age and use, including marks, scratches, wear, old repairs, irregularities and variations in colour. The two wide chestnut boards of the tabletop retain many of these signs of its long history.

The table is sturdy and ready for use.
