Antique French Walnut Dining Table, Farmhouse Table with Drawer, circa 1900

Antique French walnut dining table dating from circa 1900.

The table has a rectangular top made from several wide walnut boards, supported by four tapered legs and a simple apron. A large drawer is fitted along one of the long sides and retains its old decorative metal handle.

At 132 cm wide and 86 cm deep, the table is a practical size for use as a dining or kitchen table. Its proportions also make it suitable for use as a large writing desk or work table.

The clearance beneath the apron is 60 cm along the long sides and 57 cm at the short ends.

The walnut has a warm, varied colour and the surface shows the normal signs of age and use expected from a table of this period. The tabletop, frame and legs retain their old surface with some marks, wear and natural variations in the wood.

The inside of the drawer has been lined with patterned paper at some point.

The table is in good antique condition, sturdy and ready for use.
