Antique French Pine Buffet Cabinet with Distressed Patina, circa 1870–1900

Antique French buffet cabinet dating from the late 19th century, circa 1870–1900.

The cabinet is made from solid pine and has an old white and cream painted finish with a heavily distressed patina. The paint has worn away considerably over time and the surface has also been lightly sanded in places, revealing the natural pine underneath.

The front has two panelled doors, each decorated with a carved circular rosette. Both doors can be locked with the key. Inside, a wooden shelf divides the cabinet into two large storage areas.

The moulded panels, shaped feet and decorative rosettes give the cabinet a traditional French appearance, while the worn painted surface adds a more rustic character.

A practical piece that can be used as a sideboard, storage cabinet or low cupboard in a kitchen, dining room or living room.

The cabinet is in good antique condition. There is considerable wear to the painted finish, together with scratches, marks, small imperfections and other traces of age and use. The surface has been lightly sanded in places. Please see the photos for the overall condition and appearance.
