Antique French Walnut Commode with Dark Grey Marble Top, c. 1830–1860

French walnut commode dating from the mid-19th century. The chest features three full-width drawers and a shallow upper drawer beneath a dark grey marble top.

The drawer fronts are veneered in figured walnut with pronounced grain patterns. The commode stands on short shaped feet and retains its simple, functional form typical of French provincial furniture from the period.

The marble top is approximately 2 cm thick and shows natural variations in colour and pattern. The locks are present but no longer function.

Suitable for use as a chest of drawers in a bedroom, hallway, living room, or dressing room.

The commode is structurally sound and ready for everyday use.
