Vintage French Oak Writing Desk with Beech Bistro Chair, circa 1930

Vintage French writing desk with bistro chair, dating from circa 1930.

The table is made from oak with elm legs. It has a rectangular top with moulded edges and four tapered, fluted legs.

A large drawer is fitted along the front and retains its old geometric metal handle. The drawer provides useful storage for papers and other small items.

The accompanying French bistro chair is made from beechwood, with a bentwood frame and round wooden seat.

With a width of 91 cm, the table is a practical size for use as a writing desk, small home office desk or occasional work table. The clearance beneath the table is 62 cm.

Both pieces show normal signs of age and use. The table is sturdy, the drawer functions correctly and the set is ready for use.
