Antique French Oak Flour Chest – 19th Century Farmhouse Side Table

Antique French flour chest dating from the 19th century.

Made from solid oak, with a large hinged top that opens to reveal a spacious storage compartment. Traditionally, pieces like this were used in rural households for storing flour and other dry goods.

The simple construction, tapered legs and wide wooden panels are characteristic of French farmhouse furniture. At 73 cm high, the piece can also be used today as a side table, console table or storage table.

The oak has a warm natural colour with visible grain and traces of age and use throughout.

The chest is solid and functional, with the hinged top opening as shown in the photographs.
