Antique Oak Flour Chest from France, 19th Century
Antique French flour chest dating from the 19th century. Made from solid oak, the chest stands on four tapered legs and has a large hinged lid providing access to the spacious interior.
Originally used for storing flour or grain, it now makes a characterful side table, console table or storage chest. Its simple construction and warm, timeworn surface give it an understated rustic appearance.
The wood shows marks, colour variations, old repairs and other signs of age and use, all consistent with its original purpose and history.
